I received a complimentary copy of "Revealing Jesus" from Bethany House. This is a beautiful devotional book written by Darlene Zschech. The devotionals are just the perfect length and they are well thought out. The biggest downfall I find with the devotional is that there is not one consistent version of the Bible used throughout the book. I am not only convinced, but I am also convicted that the King James Bible is the most accurate version of the Bible for the English speaking people today. I feel that when a writer changes the version of the Bible for a devotional, they are trying to change the actual meaning of the passage to what they want it to say, but anyways, this isn't about my convictions about the Bible. This is about the devotional.
I love that the devotional is hardback. So many devotional books are soft backed, so they get creases in the front and/or the covers get ripped. The graphics in the book are beautiful. The beginning of each month, has two full color pages with the month name and song lyrics. All in all it is a beautiful book, from the words on the page, to the graphics.
I'm so glad to be back reviewing books with Bethany House. Tune in soon for a review from the book, "Unrivaled" by Siri Mitchell.
